Whether you are relocating, downsizing / moving, or simply want a more well-managed home life, my professional organising service is discrete, methodical and based on an intentional approach to tidying called The KonMari Method®.

ALICHIA – MY STORY
In 2015, I accepted a Quantity Surveyor position at a global multinational consulting firm and relocated alone from South Africa to London. I have been involved in some of the most prestigious construction projects in the world but fitting my life into a few boxes is by far one of my greatest achievements.
While looking for ways to make the most of a few square meters, I discovered Marie Kondo and the KonMari Method® which helped me maintain a peaceful and clutter-free space.
Then I relocated again – this time to New Zealand – during a pandemic. Feeling the effects of lockdown, I began a journey to find what sparked joy for me again. Joy is a relative term for everyone, but joy for me is nature, family and friends. Joy is having a decluttered, calm space to wind down and spend some quality time with loved ones and I knew I wanted to create this ideal lifestyle for myself – and other busy individuals.
In 2021, I made the bold and brave decision to become a Certified KonMari® Consultant and start my own Professional Organising Business – A Journey To Joy. I draw on all the experience I’ve gained as a QS and use my work ethic, organisation skills and personal investment in service delivery to help others regain control of their homes and workspaces and live well managed, organised, and sustainable lives. My philosophy is that your space should be a sanctuary – not an anxiety – and I would love to help you discover what that sanctuary looks like for you!

THE KONMARI METHOD®
Decluttering is a personal and sometimes overwhelming process. I apply The KonMari Method® because it is a simple but effective tidying method to create calm, relaxing environments with only items that spark joy! This method was developed by Marie Kondo, a tidying expert, bestselling author and star of the Netflix shows “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo” & “Sparking Joy”.
Marie Kondo says “Tidying is just a tool, not the final destination. The true goal should be to establish the lifestyle you want most once your house has been put in order.” So, before I start helping clients, I guide them to envision their ideal lifestyle.
If you are a busy individual seeking reprieve from a fast-paced environment or entering a new season of life, The KonMari Method® will help you slow down and live with intention.
It is comprised of five categories, all, or some of which we can tackle together in a manageable and sustainable way, starting with clothes, books, paper, komono (Japanese word for miscellaneous items) lastly moving onto sentimental items.
As a professional organiser applying The KonMari Method® I am passionate about helping people – not helping people spend more. So even though I can certainly help you source materials you may need while tidying – my services focus on creating a practical home, not a Pinterest perfect home.
This method can also be distinguished from other organising methods in that a professional organiser trained by Marie Kondo will declutter with you – not for you – giving you 100% control of your journey to joy.

At the end of our time together, you are living joyfully and intentionally and have time for what matters in life. We will have a check-in session 3-6 months after completion of your KonMari® journey.
